Character Model

•April 25, 2009 • 1 Comment

Well here is an update on my progression project and this is how far i have gotten with the 3d Character Model doesnt look like much but its slowly getting there.

*Update*

After a few hours of modelling the other day i began with progress of bringing the model upto the shoulders and neck only to realise i had completely screwed up the mesh not to worry though i had a back up but to have wasted three/four hours not something i was happy about but ive learnt from the mistakes will be posting an image soon with the mess i made, oh and on top of that the task to which i was trying to complete took me around twenty to thirty minutes after completly messing up.

Sorry for no recent posts after finishing the previous project i haven’t really been in the mood for anything due to the fact that i am not a big fan of Dreamweaver or flash.

Progression project has finally begun something that i have been looking forward to for awhile now and to have complete choice over what i can create is some what of a relief even though i already know what i would i am going to create, for this project Ive decided to be a bit more organized and to start off with im completing all my research first as this will mean one less task for me to complete and allow me to concentrate on the character modeling, hopefully i can complete the character model within a week and add a bone structure to allow me to do some animation with this model, i’ve also decided that i will try use a software called Z-brush to give my character a more realistic look.

More to come on the project itself and of course i will be posting images of my progress leading up to the finished piece.

Interactive Media (Flash Portfolio website)

I recently posted some images showing how my website looks but i am even more surprised at how it actually looks with some content on each of the pages the navigation around my site itself is quite simplistic but essentially it could be better, anyway more to the point that my site is almost complete but as for myself using this site for a portfolio this is something that i am still deciding on.

Essentially though i am looking forward to finishing this interactive website to be able to progress onto the progression project where i can push myself into gaining skills in character modelling leading to character animation.

Interative media

I find that this new module we have begun a few weeks back to be rather tedious, i can understand its uses but for some one who wants to concentrate on becoming an 3d animator i get a feeling of im been thrown into a subject that has its limitations, the only use to me that i have found this interactive media subject to be to myself is the creation of a website but even then id much rather pay someone else to create me a website so that i could concentrate on more of the 3d aspect to which i want to improve on my current skill level.

well anyway here is a screen shot of the website i created in flash: -

I could create a much better website than the current one i have created but i would much rather move onto the progression project to which i have chosen my idea already, updates to come on the progression project.

My Apologies for no posts as of recently as i have had to start working on Adobe flash for the creation of my website for an authoring assignment but as a side note i have began to create a LPM (Low Polygon modeling) learning from a tutorial called the “Joan of arc tutorial” which can be found on this website www.3dtotals.com under the completed section of the tutorials.

anyway here is a screen shot of yes you have seen it right a Pair of legs!

Once i find the time to finish this project i will be posting further images on how the creation of this tutorial is going.

Manga Drawing Again

I have just now finished this drawing for all your viewing, but i have found that i have gradually improved in my drawing skills, the drawing itself is not from my own original work so all of the credit has to goto Mark Crilly the Mika Falls artist since it was his video tutorial i used to draw this image but hopefully you can see some improvement: -

Lately i have been doing alot of work on my 3d project that i decided i would do something different, well anyway after watching alot of anime recently i tried drawing manga faces as a way of improving my drawing skills, the first two drawings i found on the internet; one of them is the bleach character Kurasaki Ichigo and the other is Fuko from Clannad, Well anyway here are the drawings:  -

The second two drawings i tried after the first two without looking at a reference image.

apachescene-with-apache

A minor correction is needed on the apache to remove the effect of the lights going through the object shouldnt be too hard but this has been alot of fun!

something that i find most appealing about this scene is that skyline!
